Core Concepts Pilates & Rehabilitation is a specialised Pilates company, operated by a team of Physiotherapists and Biokineticists. People of all ages and fitness levels can benefit from the low-impact STOTT PILATES® Mat and Reformer Classes, as well as our Fascial Flow & Breathing classes designed to improve strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination. Because of the safe, scientific, and gentle movements of Pilates, our workouts are an excellent option for those recovering from injury or managing chronic pain. STOTT PILATES®
STOTT PILATES® offers a contemporary interpretation of the original exercise method developed by Joseph Pilates. Over the course of three decades, co-founders Lindsay G. Merrithew and Moira Merrithew, alongside a team of physical therapists, sports medicine professionals, and fitness experts, have refined the STOTT PILATES® approach. This refinement process involved incorporating modern exercise science principles, fascial fitness, and spinal rehabilitation, resulting in a method that is both highly safe and effective.
The comprehensive and detailed nature of this approach serves as the foundation for STOTT PILATES® training and Certification programs. STOTT PILATES® is utilized by a wide range of individuals, including those in rehabilitation, post-rehabilitation, prenatal care, athletes, celebrities, and individuals from all walks of life. STOTT PILATES® exercises are designed to help people of all genders and ages enhance their strength, flexibility, endurance, and posture, without adding bulk or placing excessive stress on joints. Whether as a complementary practice to cardiovascular exercise, athletic training, or rehabilitation, STOTT PILATES® can assist in toning the body, rejuvenating the mind, and improving the overall ease of movement.
FASCIAL REHABILITATION
Traditional models of exercise often emphasize muscle isolation, which can result in rigid, segmented movement patterns. With modern understanding, we now recognize that true movement occurs through interconnected fascial planes—the body’s dynamic web that links muscles, joints, and organs into one continuous system.
Fascial Rehabilitation redefines how we approach movement by focusing on integration rather than isolation. This method encourages the body to move fluidly, retraining patterns that restore natural rhythm and redefining the concept of core stability. At its heart, Fascial Rehabilitation bridges the gap between scientific insight and embodied experience. It transitions the body from compensatory mechanics into restored strength and alignment, enabling movement to function in accordance with its intended design. By restoring flow and balance, it supports recovery, enhances performance, and promotes long-term wellness.
